The card number on my receipt doesn't match

Why is the card number on my receipt different from my Mynt card?

If the card number on your receipt doesn't match the number on your Mynt card, this is completely normal.

Many card issuers and payment solutions, such as Visa, Mastercard, and Apple Pay, use tokenization. This means that a temporary card number is displayed on the receipt instead of your actual card number. This helps protect your card details and reduces the risk of fraud.

How do I match the receipt to the correct transaction?

Even if the card number is different, you can easily identify the correct transaction by comparing:

  • date

  • amount

  • transaction reference

This information is available both on the receipt and in Mynt, making it easy to match the receipt to the correct transaction.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't my actual card number shown?

Your card number is replaced with a tokenized card number to protect your card details. This is a security feature used by many card issuers and digital wallets.

Can I still use the receipt as supporting documentation?

Yes. As long as the date, amount, or transaction reference matches, the receipt can be used as supporting documentation and attached to the correct transaction.
